I've been developing software for over 20 years.  I began with BASIC, proceeded to x86 assembly, then COBOL, RPG, C, C++.  Today, my primary development platforms are PHP, Javascript, with MySQL for DBMS.

The Calendar to the right was designed with three criteria; a) it couldn't interfere with anything on the page, b) it had simple to place on multiple web pages, c) it had to be connected to a DBMS to query events.

I've built some larger scale systems including a complete online travel agency system.  I did have some help with this one.  The system took some time to build, but its been widely used.  The booking engine below is a tiny piece of the front end.  The system currently keeps track of hundreds of hotels and room inventories, in various cities across the U.S.
