I have been repairing PC's since the originals hit the market in 1985 .
Ironically, the basic components haven't changed much in the past twenty
years.
Most of the repairs I do today are configuration repairs. These
repairs are mostly due to malware - software that a user has installed on
their computer. It may be spyware, viruses, adware, or some other
subspecies of malware. I configure lean
machines. This means if the process doesn't need to be running - it
isn't. This frees up memory, cpu cycles, network congestion, and
just makes the machine run better. Each machine is hand tuned to
exploit it's raw potential.
As is the case with cars, the most difficult part of repair is
diagnosis. This is where experience is king. I've opened and
repaired every thing from the original IBM PC to the the XBOX.
Onsite Computer Repair Prices:
For onsite service, I charge a $15.00 service charge, regardless of
whether I fix anything - it covers my gas. If you get the machine
to me, and pick it up - there is no service charge. I charge
$65.00/hr ($45.00/hr for first-time customers only)
for diagnosis and repair. So onsite service for one hour will cost you
$80.00/$60.00. If you are a first-time customer, as an incentive - I
give you a break. Please check my
service areas page for a list of areas I service. You can use
the Contact Me form to tell me your
problems, or just to drop me a line. I guarantee my work for 30
days and stand behind it.
